Background

More than a million Rohingya refugees living in overcrowded camps in Bangladesh during the COVID-19 pandemic were waiting for justice and safe, dignified return to their ancestral land.

The Gambia’s legal action against Myanmar was a historic milestone in the fight for justice and accountability. The webinar discussed the ICJ case and the concern caused by Myanmar’s request to keep its report confidential.

The virtual conference brought together scholars, experts and activists to discuss justice, accountability and safe return.
