Background

The 2020 Myanmar General Election was approaching, but Rohingya were not allowed to vote despite having voted and elected parliamentary representatives since Myanmar’s independence from British colonial rule.

The conference examined why Rohingya must be allowed to vote, elect their representatives and regain the voting rights they had enjoyed for generations.
