Myanmar’s decades long systematic persecution of our community, Rohingya, is described as slow-burning genocide or crimes against humanity by researchers and United Nations. Due to this chronic persecution, Rohingya students get very little chance for higher educations. As a consequence, as a community, we are lacking from scholars in the field of politics, journalism, sociology, and so on.
Therefore, one of the objectives of The European Rohingya Council (ERC) is to find a way for and to facilitate potential Rohingya students to achieve higher education in the field of journalism, international relations, politics, public health, etc. so that those Rohingya students can build a productive and progressive Rohingya community. In this small communication, we report how we have been facilitating Rohingya students for university education.
