Rohingya delegates from different Rohingya organizations like Arakan Rohinya Union (ARU), Global Rohingya Center (GRC) and European Rohingya Council (ERC) took part in the Seventh World Forum for the UN Alliance of Civilizations.
According to source, the Global Forum for the UN Alliance of Civilizations began on 25th April, 2016 that continued till 27th of April 2016 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
The Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU) Director General, Dr. Wakar Uddin participated in the Forum and stressed on the importance of participation in the Forum which is one of the unique opportunities for all, especially for the Rohingya representatives to know and interact with international experts working toward social activities and contributes to the elaboration of a global formula for social integration. The ARU DG also expressed his gratefulness to get opportunity of participation in the 7th Global Forum for the UN Alliance of Civilizations and meet Cultural Minister of Azerbaijan where he could exchange views with different experts and receive knowledge on human civilizations and human rights which he can utilize to work together with people for the rights of Rohingya Community in Burma.
Dr. Wakar delivered his valuable speech about the hatred and instigation of violence speech of separatist monk, Wirathu against Rohingya in Burma. In his speech, he also raised the pressing issues of human rights violation against Rohingya community and how badly they are suffering in Burma and in neighboring countries, and urged the international communities and the powerful bodies of the world to protect Rohingya from harsh persecutions of Burmese government in order that the citizenship rights of the most persecuted Rohingya be ensured in Burma.
The Chairman of Human Rights Sector of GRC Dr. Taher Mohammad Siraj said, it is an active participation of the delegates about the civilizations in Burma and the multiplicity of cultures in the Forum, which this year comes under the “Title in Integrated Communities”. I am delighted and grateful to have the scope of taking part in this World Forum for the UN Alliance of civilizations and human rights that I can meet experts in this Forum and address the root causes of persecutions on Rohingya community by the Burmese regimes which can draw the attention of participants of the forum towards the solution of the Rohingya’s long term problems, said Dr. Taher.
According to ECR General Secretary, Mr Mohammad Ibrahim, the Global Forum in which he took part was the most important where he could express his opinions and discuss the issues of human rights violation, specially the persecutions on Rohingya community in Arakan State, Burma.
Several issues on human rights, civilizations and cultures were discussed in the 7th Global Forum for the UN Alliance. Participants from multiple Organizations and communities have received opportunities to exchange their views and ideas on the current civilizations and human rights across the world, source more added.
