‘Berlin Protest’ against ongoing Rohingya Genocide

ercprotest-in-berlinBerlin Germany: The European Rohingya council (ERC), Society for Threatened People (STP) & Rohingya individuals from Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands protested against ongoing military assaults in Maungdaw, northern Rakhine State, Myanmar. The protest took place in front of the Myanmar Embassy, Berlin on 28th October 2016.

The peaceful protest started at 11:00 am local time. The protest demanded Myanmar government to stop extrajudicial killing, mass arrest, torture and indifinite detention of innocent Rohingya women, children and elderly; to stop burning of houses and forced displacement of Rohingya; to immediately release unjustly arrested Rohingya; and to allow access of international media and humanitarian aids. In addition, the protest also demanded United Nations, western and regional leaders to take an active role in stopping persecution of Rohingya by Myanmar government.

The protest ended at 1:30 pm local time peacefully. The protest organizers finally requested international community to take a bold action to stop on-going genocide of more than a million Rohingya.
