DARE TO CARE: THE ROHINGYA FEMALES

Documentary by Haikal Mansor, General Secretary of the European Rohingya Council

As the world celebrates “The International Women’s Day” on March 8, more than 357,000 Rohingya women and girls are among nearly a million of Rohingya population which is forced to flee their place of origin, suffering harrowing crimes of genocide – murder, rape, sexual violence, throwing into fire, arson, killing of beloved ones, destruction of home and properties, denial of basic human rights and denial of the atrocities being committed by Myanmar Armed Forces in coordination with Buddhist vigilantes.

Aung San Suu Kyi, the first woman who leads the non-military controlled government after more than half a century, continues denying the basic human rights of the most persecuted Rohingya women and girls, defending the perpetrators who has once put her under house-arrest, and whitewashing the international community on Myanmar Genocide and covering up the evidence of genocide.

Rohingya women and girls who seek shelters in Bangladesh refugee camps, find themselves in another world of exploitation under the hands of gangs which use and play with the unimaginable sufferings of the women and girls for their monetary gains.

The world’s powerful countries and blocs continue idly standing by while psychological and physical traumas of Rohingya females grows and the prospects of forced repatriation or the relocation to two muddy and flood-proned islands which emerged in the Bay of Bengal in a few years ago.

Is Aung San Suu Kyi dare to care? Is the world dare to care? Or idly stands by while hundreds of thousands of Rohingya women and girls continue suffering from Myanmar genocide under our watch.
